FITTER’S DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ON THE SHIP

Hello friends! Today I would like to introduce to you the duty on the ship's Fitter:

Duties and responsibilities:

1.    As the Chief of Engine Rating.  Assist 1st Engineer to delegate the work properly, he is engaged in works related to engine maintenance.

2.    He is responsible for the execution of engine works, set-up working order, provide best method, considering the skill and ability of each member to have an efficient and harmonious performance of engine department.

3.    He will supervise the work on engine, check the condition of tools, safety harness and machinery before being allowed to used.

4.    He must endeavor to pay attention to the situation of the working place and its surroundings to prevent accident or injury and adhere to safety rules, confirmed that safety protective gear has been worn effectively.

5.    He is in charge as a store-keeper. Keep the records of received/consumed of engine stores and report condition to second engineer.  He made a good order of engine stores to prevent pilferage.

6.    Assist engineers in maintenance of all engine machinery such as overhauling of Main engine, auxiliary engine, purifier and pumps.
